Spring Cleaning

For a seemingly inexplicable reason, Felix started emptying out his little playhouse this morning. I thought perhaps he was just doing a spot of spring cleaning, as he took out the rug, the beanbag and the little Dinger-esque cat and baby that live in there and piled them up outside. He was doing it really quite intently and with real purpose so I left him to it - in fact, when I went and knocked on his door, he poked his head round, said 'bye bye' and shut the door in my face! It turned out he just wanted to clear some space so he could start throwing a ball around in there and try to lodge it in the little panels in the house's 'eaves'. Well, it kept him amused for a while...

Music maestro and a glimpse of nudey time

Felix loves the little piano Andy and Amy got him for Christmas and plays it rather dramatically, hunched over, arms raised high then slammed down on the keys. Thankfully this is one that plays a tune as he hits the keys, rather than what he is actually playing. Are we terrible parents stifling his creativity? Ah, never mind. We were the ones who tried to get him nice wooden toys for Christmas, everyone else bought him noisy plastic things, that he of course loves much more than what we got him! We have to be thankful for small mercies.

After displaying his musical genius, Felix had a bit of nudey time. I would normally keep such photos private but I just loved this blurred photo of the fleeting bottom glance...

Week by Week

It wouldn't be my blog without a photo, so I thought I'd start with this. I put it together quickly today for a thread on ITNO comparing photos from when your baby was born to now. All the images are in my Felix Week by Week set on Flickr and are... well, obviously they're a picture a week of Felix's life (with an extra one for the day he was born and his first birthday)

It amazes me whenever I look at this - seeing how much he's changed over the last (nearly) 18 months. When I look at some of the pictures I can hardly remember him looking that way, particularly around the 6 month mark for some reason.

I hope I can carry on putting this together for a while yet and do the same for the little girl. I wonder how long I'll manage it - as long as he lets me, I suppose!
